Objectives of the study program
The general goal of the study program is to train students for the independent application of acquired knowledge and skills in the field of disease prevention, diagnosis, and therapy, but also to promote a healthy lifestyle and preserve physical and mental health, as well as to engage in scientific and research work and further professional progress, and all in accordance with the respect of legal, ethical and moral values as well as the principles of good clinical and scientific practice.
The specific objectives are as follows:
- Acquiring knowledge about the normal structure and biological functions of the human organism (including measurement and evaluation methods), understanding health and how to promote it
- Acquiring knowledge about the natural and violent disruption of the structure and/or function of certain organs, organ systems, or the entire human organism and the etiology of the disorder
- Acquiring knowledge and skills from appropriate clinical disciplines, which provide the student with an idea of mental and physical illnesses, their detection and treatment (taking an anamnesis, performing a comprehensive physical and psychological examination, interpreting clinical and laboratory findings, and acquiring competencies for performing a certain number of basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures)
- Acquiring knowledge about procedures and methods of preventive medicine, diagnostics, and therapy, as well as human reproduction
- Acquiring knowledge about people's living conditions, their environment, the protection of the human environment, and the social status of the individual
- Acquiring knowledge in deontology, ethics, and legal responsibility of doctors
- Acquiring the necessary clinical experience under professional supervision in health care institutions and developing skills and knowledge towards constant adaptation to modern requirements of medical science and practice (syllabus) within the European academic area
- Acquiring knowledge in the field of scientific research methodology and scientific methods that, based on biomedical measurements, enable the analysis of obtained data and the assessment of scientific facts.
The objectives of the study program are in accordance with the basic tasks and objectives of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Kragujevac.
The goals are aligned with the requirements of the labor market and the defined National Framework of Qualifications.
