ABSTRACT
The key factor for prognosis of
acute myocardial infarction (AIM) is to estimate left ventricular
(dis)function. There are many parameters for early prognosis of
AMI, but ejection fraction (EF) has crucial role. Recent studies
showed that several methods for determination of EF highly correlated:
radionuclide ventriculography (RNV), echocardiography (ECH) and
contrast ventriculography (CV).
For this purpose, the aim of our study was to determine EF by RNV,
ECHO, CV in patients with AMI (n=64), as well as in control group
(n=30) and correlation with early and definitive prognosis of disease.
Mean EF in control group was 66.8 % (RNV), 65.4 % (ECHO), 71.6 %
(CV), as well as 45.7 %, 42.9 %, 47.2 % in patients with AMI, respectively.
Clinical finding in patients with AMI highly correlate for ECHO
and CV (r=0.81, p<0.01, y=12.3+0.65x), as was the case with RNV
and CV (r=0.88, p<0.01, y=7.7+0.82x).
On the basis of our results, we concluded that EF represents basic
parameter for early prognosis of AMI, as well as for therapeutic
interventions and life-style.
