Curriculum

The study program Pharmacy - Integrated Academic Studies lasts for 5 years or 10 semesters. The study program consists of 42 mandatory and 6 elective courses, as well as the preparation and defense of the final thesis. Each academic year is worth 60 ECTS. All subjects are one-semester, and classes in one semester last for 15 weeks. In the study program Pharmacy - Integrated Academic Studies, active teaching is represented by 600 hours per year, or 20 hours per week.

In the first semester, students attend 4 mandatory courses worth a total of 30 ECTS credits, as well as in the second semester (4 mandatory courses that carry 30 ECTS credits). In the third semester, students attend 5 mandatory courses worth 29 ECTS credits, and in the fourth semester, 4 mandatory courses that carry 21 ECTS credits and elective 2 courses (out of 4 offered) that bring the additional 10 ECTS credits. In the fifth semester, students attend 6 mandatory courses that carry 30 ECTS credits, and in the sixth semester, 4 mandatory courses worth 20 ECTS credits and elective 2 courses (out of 4 offered) that carry the additional 10 ECTS credits. In the seventh semester, students attend 5 mandatory courses that carry 31 ECTS credits, and in the eighth semester, 3 mandatory courses worth 19 ECTS credits and elective 2 courses (out of 4 offered) that carry the additional 10 ECTS credits. In the ninth semester, students attend 5 mandatory courses that carry 30 ECTS credits, while the tenth semester is based on the implementation of mandatory professional student practice and mandatory comprehensive approach in the field of final work, which carries a total of 30 ECTS credits.

The teaching methods include: lectures, exercises, seminars, problem-oriented teaching, project-oriented teaching and professional practice. Those forms of teaching whose scope is expressed in the number of hours are counted as "active teaching". Due to the even workload of students, the number of ECTS credits per semester of the study program Pharmacy - Integrated Academic Studies is 30±1 ECTS credits in each of the semesters.

The study program Pharmacy - Integrated Academic Studies differs from other corresponding study programs by more than 35% of the total number of ECTS credits made up of subjects with active teaching from a set of professionally-applied and scientific-professional subjects).

In the structure of this study program in relation to the total number of ECTS credits, the following groups of subjects are represented: scientific and professionally-applied with 70.67% and general education and theoretical-methodological with 29.33%.

Elective courses represent 12.5% of the total number of ECTS credits in the integrated academic studies. The list of elective courses contains twice as many courses in relation to

the number of elective courses: the student chooses 6 out of 12 offered elective courses.

At the beginning of the study, each student is assigned a tutor, from the ranks of teachers and associates. The tutor constantly monitors the work and progress of the student through studies.

For each of the subjects, the number of hours of active teaching is defined, as well as the number of ECTS credits, according to the real workload of students. By writing and defending the final work, students gain 10 ECTS credits.

The content of the study program is based on the latest knowledge from appropriate disciplines and is patient-oriented, as a center of interest for theoretical and practical pharmacy.
